Why this one

Keeps the router and fibre box on their own plugs, with six sockets backed by the battery.

What was found

It kept a modem, router and three other devices running through power loss. At about 35 W, the reported run lasted 1 hour, 31 minutes and 56 seconds. This is one owner's test, not a lab test at 18 W.

What owners report

UK owners report smooth switchover with a router and hubs, and working battery backup for computers. One reports a loose internal connection and another a wrong plug supplied. The page mixes countries and variants, so it cannot give a UK fault rate.

Limits and cautions

  • Plug both the router and fibre box into battery sockets. The two surge only sockets do not keep running in a power cut.
  • We have no checked runtime or minimum load shutdown figure at the guide's 18 W example. Test with your own load and a charged battery.
  • The 35 W test does not promise the same runtime for you. Battery age, temperature and connected equipment change it.
  • Your broadband still needs power in the network upstream. It cannot guarantee internet access or an emergency call.
  • Check the UK model code before ordering. Do not open the case to fix a fault; return it to the seller.
  • The seller warns that opened UPS units and batteries cannot be returned. Read its returns terms before opening.
  • A cheaper single output DC unit needs a separate match for each box's voltage, polarity, connector and current. Do not improvise a splitter.
